The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is required of all applicants whose native language is not English. This requirement is waived only for applicants who will have received a baccalaureate degree, or its foreign equivalent, prior to matriculation at Yale, from a university or college where English is the primary language of instruction. TOEFL scores should also be sent to institution code 3987.

Applicants must submit GRE General Test score (less than 5 years old) to the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (institution code 3987; no department code is required). Only applicants to the MS in Chronic Disease Epidemiology may submit MCAT scores in lieu of the GRE.
